Port Albert CFA has recently received keys to a new CFA MEdium Tanker. This new tanker replaces theold one and whilst it may look the same it has many new inclusions that the local volunteers are happy about. This model is built on a 2012 Hino 1322X4x4 crew chassis with seating for five crew.It is more maneuverable and versatile than the old truck and can pupm 900 litres of water per minute, double the output of the old model and on par with a large tanker. An ultra high-pressure pump can spray low levels of water at high pressure which is idela for blacking out or even cleaning the truck and switching between water sources is as easy as the flicking of a switch. The addition in design of a new drop down awning on the back deck has also been included for protection of the crew with all fibreglass parts on the old truck being replaced with aluminium & plastic to make it more environmentally sustainable. Delivery of the truck to Port Albert is part of a statewide 25 Million dollar project was completed in June this year, which has seen 74 new tankers distributed to rural stations across the state.
