Walking
Some people enjoy walking as a relaxing pastime, others enjoy more of a challenge. Whichever applies, Port Albert can accommodate.
A gentle stroll around Port Albert is an easy pastime. No hills, and minimal traffic makes walking around the town stress free. Step up to another level and grab a map of the Port Albert Heritage Walk from the local museum and follow the signs. The Heritage Walk information boards give a good insight into the history of Port Albert. Maps of the Port Albert Heritage Walk are available from the Maritime Museum.
Another signed track is the ‘Old Port Trail’ that runs along the waters edge from Port Albert to Seabank Caravan Park. An easy track for those that enjoy a bit more distance in their walks. This sheltered trail takes you through a variety of vegetation while being only metres from the beach. Information signs and rest points along the way make this an enjoyable walk for all the family.
Staying closer to town, the immediate area around the town offers a maze of easy & flat walking tracks, and you’ll never be too far from good food, coffee or a cold drink.
All of these tracks are easy rides for those on pushbikes as there are no hills!!
The more adventurous will enjoy a scenic drive to nearby Tarra Bulga National Park. The windy road through the tree ferns is an introduction to what awaits you when you decide which of the many walks to tackle. Maps & information are available at the Tarra Bulga National Park information Centre at Balook.
